Thomas B. Brenneke
Tom Brenneke has been president of Guardian Real Estate Services since 1999. In his 20 year history with the company, Brenneke has been instrumental in growing the company’s management portfolio and guiding its growth into new segments of the real estate industry. He is a previous board member of the Metro Multifamily Housing Association and a member of the National Multi Housing Council. Brenneke is a Certified Property Manager and licensed Oregon Real Estate Broker. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Portland in 1984.

Bradley J. Bullock
Brad Bullock recently joined Guardian Real Estate Services to head up its newly formed Advisory Services group. He has over 21 years of experience in the affordable housing industry and for the last three years was the head of asset resolutions for Capmark, which owned 1,000 affordable properties representing a $3 billion equity investment. His group worked closely with government agencies, lenders, investment banks and tax credit institutional investors to negotiate financial restructurings, asset sales and foreclosures. In 1998, he and his partners sold the Arcand Company, a national low income housing tax credit syndicator to PNC Bank. He assumed responsibilities for PNC’s national affordable acquisitions platform which generated over $1,000,000,000 of equity and debt originations in 2006. Brad has also successfully developed low-income housing projects as a principal and is a licensed real estate broker. He graduated from Oregon State University with honors in 1981 and also served as the student body treasurer in 1980.

J. Daniel Steffey
J. Daniel Steffey is vice president, development for Guardian Real Estate Services. Steffey has been responsible for the firm’s activity in the highly specialized world of acquisition, preservation and development of workforce housing. He leads a highly knowledgeable group experienced in the use of complex financial structures and development incentives to carry out its work. He has more than four decades of experience in housing and community development work in Oregon, including a history of public and private sector affordable housing accomplishments. He has also created employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Steffey is active in the community, including Chair of the Multnomah County/Portland Citizens Commission on Homelessness, a group charged with the creation and oversight of the community’s 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness, and as a member of the Board of Trustees for Portland’s De La Salle North Catholic High School.

Teresa Stempel
Teresa Stempel is the Chief Financial Officer for Guardian Real Estate Services LLC, having joined the company in February 2009. Teresa serves on the company’s executive management team and is responsible for all corporate finance, accounting and reporting. She also oversees the accounting for the company-owned portfolio of multifamily and commercial properties. Ms. Stempel started her accounting career with Arthur Andersen and has served as a shareholder at Perkins & Co., a large CPA firm located in Portland, Oregon. Most recently she was a Controller and later CFO for a national restaurant chain, The Old Spaghetti Factory Restaurants, with oversight of all financial operations. Her position at Guardian includes overall responsibility for cash and treasury management, property and corporate accounting, risk management, computer technology, and financial and regulatory filings. Teresa is a graduate of the University of Portland and is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the Oregon Society of CPA’s.

Jim Wiard
Jim Wiard is vice president of property management for Guardian Real Estate Services. Wiard has been employed by Guardian since 1991 and serves on the company’s executive management team. He is responsible for managing all property operations, including key relationships, policy development, training and compliance. During 2007, Wiard spearheaded the company’s non-smoking initiative and converted all portfolio properties to non-smoking. In his time with Guardian, he has supervised numerous lease-ups and participated on many development teams. His experience also includes most major government housing programs. Wiard is a Certified Property Manager® and past president of Portland’s Metro Multifamily Housing Association. Additionally, he is the company’s principal broker for Oregon and Washington. Wiard is a graduate of University of Oregon and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing.
